Recognition Program for IMPAC Cancer Registrars
IMPAC’s Registrar of the Year program honors outstanding IMPAC registrars who have made valuable contributions to the success of the registry and have expanded their contributions to the broader facility and community. IMPAC Medical Systems, Inc. announces the open nomination period for the 2008 Registrar of the Year.

2007 Recipients
2007 IMPAC Registrar of the Year was Brad Kirby, MPH, CTR, Cancer Registry Supervisor/Oncology Research Coordinator, Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News, Virginia. Mr. Kirby was recognized for his exceptional service to Riverside Regional Cancer Center over the past five years. Now responsible for most of Riverside's cancer-related Oncology Quality Improvement activities, Kirby has a growing interest in increasing the utilization and quality of Cancer Registry data, and is writing a paper on the subject.

Additionally, Kirby has helped the Riverside Tree of Life Cancer Care Fund's fundraising efforts by collecting over $600 USD through his adult kickball team. The Riverside Tree of Life Cancer Care Fund, sponsored by the Riverside Cancer Care Center, provides services such as transportation, testing, and research to assist cancer patients in need.

2007 Honorable Mention: Dianna Wilson, RHIA, CTR, Cancer Registry Coordinator, Medical Center of South Arkansas, El Dorado, Arkansas.

2008 Nominations
Nominations for 2008 are now closed. The deadline for nominations was Monday, March 31, 2008.
