Oncology Hematology Associates of Central Illinois, P.C. (OHACI)
of Peoria, IL treats more than 200 patients each day at its main
site and 16 satellite centers with a total staff of 130
employees. OHACI utilizes the IntelliLab® laboratory information system
extensively as an integral part of IMPAC’s electronic medical record and
practice management capability.
IntelliLab
In addition to being one of IMPAC’s first medical
oncology sites, OHACI was also the first to install IMPAC’s IntelliLab system in conjunction with IMPAC’s healthcare management system, Multi-ACCESS™. IntelliLab enables seamless reporting of lab results to IMPAC’s electronic medical record. “Our lab coordinator was looking for a lab system, and IntelliLab was the obvious choice. We knew its robust nature would allow us to grow with the system, plus it has the potential to allow us to integrate our satellite facilities as well,” said April Hammer, chief clinical officer at OHACI.
An Integrated Solution
Hammer also explained that OHACI uses the charge capture functions of IntelliLab so that all the information from the lab is available for billing in aCOUNT™, IMPAC’s medical billing and accounts receivable solution. In this way, IntelliLab makes the practice management integration to the electronic medical record complete – from the lab, to the patient’s chart, and into the billing system for payment. |
