Central EMR
Because the chart is the fundamental means by which healthcare
professionals communicate information about patient care, the
IMPAC electronic medical record (EMR) is the essential component
of IMPAC’s oncology management system. More than a central
repository for patient data and images, the IMPAC EMR is an
active clinical tool that includes computerized physician order
entry (CPOE), customizable assessments, document and image
management, and features designed specifically to handle the
complexities and nuances of medical oncology.
Oncology-Specific Regimens
Equipped with a library of standard chemotherapy regimens that
can be edited to conform to your center’s specific requirements
and guidelines, IMPAC Care Plans provide an efficient means of
promoting and tracking compliance and ensuring consistency of
treatment delivery. Care Plans automatically generate a compete
‘worksheet’ with physician visits chemotherapy orders, required
tests, and treatment appointments – all mapped out in advance to
help you better manager your time, resources, drug inventory,
and reimbursement.
Clinician Worksheet™
IMPAC’s Medical Oncology EMR has been designed to streamline
chemotherapy ordering and administration by allowing clinicians
to plan treatment, process orders, and track patient progress
from a single Clinician Worksheet. Fast, straightforward,
single-screen processing of chemotherapy orders helps increase
practice communication and efficiency, while improving order
accuracy.
Immediate Lab Results
IMPAC can be configured with an HL7 interface to an existing
laboratory information system (LIS) or IMPAC’s LIS option so lab
results are immediately available in the oncology EMR. Lab
connectivity expedites results reporting and eliminates the
chance of communication errors. And color-coded warnings and
alerts notify clinicians of any assessment data or lab results
that are out of user-defined range.
Safe & Efficient Administration
To help ensure patient safety during chemotherapy ordering and
administration, the IMPAC EMR automatically calculates BSA, AUC,
and ANC dose limits as well as cumulative dose. The system also
calculates medication doses and allows for dose adjustments
before order processing. Telephone and verbal orders are managed
to allow quick administration, while providing safety checks and
an audit trail. And medication orders are checked against
approved dose limits to ensure cycle dose amounts are not
exceeded.
