Lab Ordering & Results
Because lab results are critical to cancer care, lab ordering
and results reporting are essential components of IMPAC’s
oncology management solution. The IMPAC system can be configured
with IMPAC’s full-featured laboratory information system (LIS)
or an HL7 interface to an existing LIS to ensure that lab
results are immediately available for review in the oncology EMR.
IMPAC Laboratory Management
IMPAC’s laboratory management system automates the processing
requirements of clinical laboratories in multi-specialty
clinics, hospitals, and reference labs. IMPAC’s LIS combines
fast and logical order processing with advanced charge
intelligence to ensure proper distribution and optimum
reimbursement. The ability to connect to more than 400 lab
devices and analyzers via sophisticated web-based technology
means instruments can be installed and moved by simply plugging
them into an available network drop – no serial cabling is
necessary. The result is the seamless reporting of lab results
in your oncology EMR and an LIS that addresses both the clinical
and business needs of your cancer center.
LIS Communications
IMPAC also provides an HL7 lab interface for customers that
would like to download information from an existing laboratory
information system directly into the oncology EMR. And IMPAC’s
LIS can be configured to exchange with outside reference labs
via an HL7 interface. The ready exchange of lab orders and
results effectively connects your IMPAC system to the healthcare
enterprise.
