Freedom of Choice
An open architecture allows cancer centers the freedom of
choice; the freedom to choose information technology (IT),
imaging, planning, and treatment delivery systems that best meet
your requirements today and your plans for the future.
Centralized Oncology IT
As the leader in developing real-time, control interfaces that
connect the IMPAC EMR to the devices that are integral to the
therapy process – imaging devices, virtual and conventional
simulators, treatment planning systems, treatment machines, as
well as laboratory systems, drug dispensing systems, and
hospital information systems – IMPAC oncology IT solutions allow
your cancer centers to select ‘best of breed’ equipment, without
worrying about connectivity to your EMR, or your IT
infrastructure.
Commitment to Standardization
Because IMPAC is committed to industry standards and open system
integration – we are committed to leading the development of
systems and standards to effectively incorporate these
technologies into the therapy process. IMPAC demonstrated this
commitment by developing and distributing the treatment planning
import/export specification, which, in turn, encouraged the
quicker release of the DICOM RT standard. Since the release of
DICOM RT, IMPAC has embraced the standard, incorporated it into
our product foundation, and even expanded it to establish a new
standard for device integration. IMPAC’s DICOM treatment machine
interface (DTMI) is based on the DICOM protocol yet addresses
the unique requirements of radiation therapy. Ongoing
development of the standard is now managed by the DICOM
community where IMPAC is an active participant; IMPAC also
actively supports the radiation therapy goals of the Integrated
Healthcare Enterprise (IHE).
Cost Effective, High Quality Care
Above all standardization benefits the customer by resulting in
better pricing and easier implementation of new treatment
technology. And IMPAC ensures that all new technology is easily
incorporated into a comprehensive electronic chart that supports
the latest advances in cancer care.

IMPAC’s commitment to industry standards and open
system integration renders us uniquely qualified to
advance the establishment of increasingly
sophisticated standards to promote multi-vendor
process integration.
