Communication
IntelliLab’s laboratory systems interfaces (LSIs) enable the lab
system to communicate important patient and laboratory
information directly with your other information systems, acting
as one unit. Direct communication automates the process and
reduces the need for direct staff interaction with laboratory,
demographic, and charge data, thereby minimizing the chance for
human error. IntelliLab collaborates on interface development
with most of the major national reference labs including Quest
and Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp), and many
regional labs including American Medical Labs (VA), Centrex Labs
(NY) and Spectrum Labs (NC).
Greater Lab Efficiency
Other systems can be completely integrated to IntelliLab’s
module for printing, faxing, and emailing – so that
comprehensive reports can be produced automatically, without
regard for their actual performing lab. Furthermore, IntelliLab
can accept microbiology data and other complex results as
discrete data elements or as ‘notes’ and can send image
references to target systems capable of receiving them. Best of
all, using the IntelliLab system ensures the correct handling of
foreign performing labs information as required by CLIA
regulations.
Available Interfaces
IMPAC provides standard interfaces for many current healthcare
systems and reference labs; custom interfaces are also
available.
- LSI: ADT allows IntelliLab to automatically accept and update
patient ADT (admission, discharge, and transfer) information
from a patient registration system, hospital information system,
practice management system, or other data source.
- LSI: CHARGES enables charge information to be automatically
sent from IntelliLab to an external billing system.
- LSI: RESULTS allows IntelliLab to send results to an external
EMR or reference lab, as well as accept lab results from an
external LIS.
- LSI: ORDERS enables IntelliLab to automatically accept
incoming orders from an external practice management system EMR,
as well as transmit outgoing orders from IntelliLab to an
external LIS.
Security
IntelliLab’s LSIs provide a completely secure connection to the
IntelliLab server over non-secure lines using https with the
appropriate hardware and software.
