Because cancer cases begin with diagnosis, the ability to easily
identify new diagnoses is critical to fast and accurate case
finding. Impac Software’s PathConnect™ maximizes your oncology
IT investment by automatically transferring data from Impac
Software’s PowerPath to METRIQ. The
result is expedited case finding, as well as decreased
transcription errors and improved data accuracy and consistency.
Standards Compliance
PathConnect is a Health Level 7 (HL7) compliant interface that
supports the import of pathology data elements – discrete
demographic and ICD-9 data fields, free text fields, and date
information. In addition to exporting discrete data fields in
HL7 standard format, Impac Software anatomic pathology customers
can export data entered via the CAP protocol worksheet utilizing
SNOMED® coding.
Registry Integration
PathConnect accepts and HL7 message and outputs a NAACCR
formatted file for incorporation into the registry database.
Upon import, METRIQ creates a new abstract with the imported
information for patients not previously identified, or updates
an abstract for an existing patient. Integrating pathology
information with Impac Software registry systems aids case
finding efforts and provides a more complete abstract without
redundant data entry.
