Chicago, IL and Sunnyvale, CA, May 5, 2008
IMPAC Medical Systems, Inc., an Elekta Company, has been selected to present at the Electronic Health Records (EHR) Lab during the 2008 American Society of Clinical Oncology’s (ASCO) Annual Meeting, May 30 - June 1, at McCormick Place, in Chicago, Illinois. This is the second year in a row Impac Software has been chosen. The screening process, which begins six months prior to the event, is competitive and includes an application and live demonstrations to the ASCO committee.

A hands-on experience, the EHR Lab will offer a setting for oncologists, administrators, nurses and other members of the oncology care team to view demonstrations of how Impac Software’s oncology EHR, MOSAIQ® Medical Oncology, can work for their cancer center.

One of 12 vendors chosen, Impac Software will demonstrate the capacity of their products to provide ASCO recommended clinical decision support using:
  • Chemotherapy Order Entry Regimens and Patient
    Safety Principles
  • White Blood Cell Growth Factors Guideline Orders
    and Flow Sheet
  • Drug, Dose & Schedule Recommendations for
    Antiemetics Regimens
  • Breast Cancer Treatment Plan and Treatment Summary

“Impac Software has been diligently working to proactively adopt ASCO recommendations, as well as demonstrate core EHR elements,” says Suzanne Marshall, Medical Oncology Business Marketing Manager for Impac Software. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to demonstrate one-on-one how MOSAIQ can provide comprehensive clinical support for both medical and radiation oncology.”

“Participating in the EHR Lab is a terrific way to introduce meeting attendees to the new, intelligent design of MOSAIQ Medical Oncology,” says James P. Hoey, President and CEO of Impac Software. “Offering clinicians an oncology charting solution that makes planning, ordering and monitoring chemotherapy treatments easy, no other oncology EHR has the ability to deliver a comprehensive solution customized to fits their specific needs.”
