IMPAC Chosen for Innovative ASCO Symposium for
Oncology EHR Best Practices

Sunnyvale, CA, July 27, 2007
IMPAC Medical Systems, Inc., has been selected to participate in the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s (ASCO) Electronic Health Records (EHR) 2007 Oncology Symposium: Providing You with Tools to Make an EHR Decision for Your Practice, September 19-20, in Dallas, Texas.

IMPAC, an Elekta company, has been working with ASCO throughout the last six months to adopt the association’s recommendations on functional elements for the development of an oncology treatment care plan and summary. Functional and clinical elements developed for ASCO's treatment plan and treatment summary are available at www.asco.org/ehr, select EHR Events, then EHR Roundtable. IMPAC also is pleased to be one of only seven of the original 23 vendors invited to participate in the symposium.

The EHR Symposium will offer a setting for oncologists, administrators, nurses and other members of the oncology care team to evaluate EHR software that may be a good fit for their environment. Vendors participating in the symposium will conduct oncology-specific product demonstrations based on scenarios provided by ASCO; and on Day 2, vendors will participate in a head-to-head "face-off" event. Educational opportunities at the symposium will include sessions on EHR implementation, improving practice efficiency with EHRs, the EHR return on investment and more.

Additional information regarding ASCOs 2007 EHR Symposium is available online at: www.asco.org/ehr.

ASCO publishes the Journal of Clinical Oncology (JCO), the preeminent, peer-reviewed, medical journal on clinical cancer research, and produces People Living with Cancer (www.plwc.org), a comprehensive consumer website providing oncologist-vetted cancer information to help patients and families make informed health-care decisions.
