Mountain View, CA, 18 April, 2003
IMPAC Medical Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:IMPC), a leading
provider of information technology solutions for healthcare
specialties, today named Kenneth Mullin, a tumor registrar at
Underwood-Memorial Hospital in Woodbury, NJ the recipient of the
2003 IMPAC Registrar of the Year award.
IMPAC’s Registrar of the Year program honors outstanding
registrars who have made valuable contributions to the success of
the registry and those who further expand their contributions to
the community and broader facility.
Mullin is recognized for his exceptional service to
Underwood-Memorial Hospital over the past three years. In addition
to turning around a two-year backlog of cases, he developed a
system for organizing and monitoring the new cases and then began
to follow-up on patients whose abstracts, in many cases, had not
been updated for two or more years.
Mullin’s contributions have also extended beyond his facility to
the registry community. He formerly served as assistant editor for
The Connection, the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA)
newsletter. He also served as a member of the Education Committee
of the state registry and helped to bring honors to his facility.
Underwood-Memorial Hospital has received the award for "Timely and
Complete Reporting of Cancer Cases" from the state registry for
the past two years.
“Kenneth Mullin is an exceptional registrar who goes above and
beyond the call of duty to ensure that his registry is operating
efficiently. His accomplishments are broad reaching and his
contribution is commendable. IMPAC is honored to recognize him as
the 2003 Registrar of the Year,” said Joseph Jachinowski, IMPAC
president and CEO.
In recognition of the accomplishment, IMPAC will provide Mullin
with a $250 stipend to support ongoing professional development.
Pamela Moats, RHIT, CTR, of West Virginia University Hospital won
the 2003 Outstanding Registrar award and a $100 stipend to support
ongoing professional development.
