IIMPAC Medical
Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:IMPC), a leading provider of information
solutions for cancer care, today named Gregory T. Schiffman, Vice
President and Chief Financial Officer of Affymetrix Inc., to its
Board of Directors. Mr. Schiffman will also head the audit
committee of IMPAC’s Board.

particularly his extensive knowledge of the biotechnology and
healthcare industries, will be of immense value to IMPAC as we

The addition of Mr. Schiffman, age 45, to IMPAC’s Board of
Directors increases its members to seven, with the majority
comprised of independent directors.
Mr. Schiffman joined Affymetrix, a leading pioneer in creating
tools that are driving the genomic revolution, as Vice President,
Finance in March 2001, and five months later was named to his
present position. He previously had been Vice President,
Controller of Applied Biosystems Group, which Mr. Schiffman had
been with since October 1998. Prior to that, he had held various
managerial and financial positions at Hewlett Packard Company and
IBM. .
Mr. Schiffman, a CPA, received a B.S. in accounting from De Paul
University, and an MBA, from Northwestern University’s J.L.
Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
