Mountain View, CA, June 6, 2002
IMPAC Medical Systems, Inc., a leading supplier of cancer registry
data management systems, today announced the new release of
Précis–Central. Précis–Central allows registrars in
multi-hospital, multi-practice, corporate and university settings,
as well as pharmaceutical registries to accurately and easily
perform data roll-up, central registry functions, and decision
support. Précis–Central will be demonstrated at the annual meeting
of the North American Association of Central Cancer Registrars (NAACCR)
June 11-13 in Toronto Canada.
Précis-Central means central registries and organizations with
multiple databases can efficiently collect, manage, and analyze
patient demographic, tumor, and treatment outcome data for public
health planning, epidemiological research, or enterprise-wide
forecasting. This is more than a central registry system for
states and/or provinces. Précis-Central is an innovative solution
to manual case consolidation by automatically selecting the best
data to populate the field. Included in this functionality is the
ability for users to view results of auto-consolidation and if
necessary “un-do” any unwanted data dispositions. The original
records contributing to the consolidated record are also
maintained for future reference.
“Précis-Central is a revolutionary tool designed to provide
enterprise-wide reporting for decision-making to help busy
registrars and physicians quickly and accurately capture
information and generate reports,” stated Donna Getreuer, RN, MSN,
CTR, IMPAC’s Senior Product Manager for Cancer Registry Systems.
“We’ve updated Précis-Central to be a flexible system that
provides registrars with information they need to build cases but
leaves the authorization power in their hands.”
