To encourage practice standard excellence within community-based
cancer centers, IMPAC has partnered with Hematology & Oncology
News & Issues (HONI) in their new three-year program, The
Initiative for HOPE.
An exciting opportunity to integrate and advance the practice of
oncology, HONI is seeking examples of “practice excellence” from
U.S. centers – small, medium and large – and, in return, sharing
them with their readership.
Important information professionals can incorporate into their
practice, The Initiative for HOPE has three primary goals:
-
Identify a set of business practice performance standards in
established, successful community-based oncology practices
-
Quantify a set of metrics within each standard that can be
applied as business practice guidelines to various practice
sizes
-
Recognize practices that exhibit practice excellence and provide
a formula practice administrators and physician-owners can
incorporate into their business practice model
“The
Medical Oncology Business Unit has been seeking a sponsorship
vehicle that’s innovative and civic minded,” says Joseph K.
Jachinowski, President and CEO, Elekta North America. “From the
moment a patient enters a cancer center, through long-term
follow up, IMPAC is committed to providing the best patient
care. Supplying these centers with the chance to learn best
practices from one another, as well as, receive recognition for
their hard work and accomplishments helps meet that objective.”
