Sunnyvale,
CA, December 27, 2007
A forum for customers and oncology professionals, Impac Software’s 7th
Annual Medical Oncology Electronic Health Record (EHR) Summit
was hosted September 27-28 in Las Vegas, Nevada. A record 200+
customers including: physicians, nurses, administrators,
researchers, billing, lab and IT staff were in attendance,
discussing how they can employ Impac Software’s application knowledge,
use and value within their own medical oncology practices.
With the central theme, Workflow Matters, attendees gained an
understanding of how Impac Software can assist their cancer care program,
as well as, interact with the Impac Software employees who develop and
service their oncology software.
The keynote address was delivered by Heather Murran, founder and
CEO of Nevada Cancer Institute (NVCI) and, Nicholas Vogelzang,
M.D., Director of NVCI and highlighted the strong partnership
between NVCI and Impac Software. NVCI currently uses MOSAIQ for Medical
Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Billing, ANALYTIQ, STRATEGIQ,
Clinical Trials and Registry products.
Consisting of a large general session, as well as, less-formal
breakout sessions, the summit was an opportunity for attendees
to exchange experiences, absorb new product features and
functionality and discuss ideas to improve workflow.
“I was really interested in the new features and functionality
featured during the Summit, especially in the clinical trials
shown by Marjorie van Der Pas,” says Nancy Henderson, West
Michigan Cancer Center, Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Another specific highlight of the meeting was the networking
reception hosted by NVCI. Throughout the evening, facility tours
were offered of the remarkable 142,000-square-foot comprehensive
research and treatment facility.
In addition to the Summit, a number of advisory Boards met while
in Las Vegas: MOAB (Medical Oncology Advisory Board) ROAB
(Radiation Oncology Advisory Board), PMAB (Practice Management
Advisory Board) and EAC (Executive Advisory Counsel). These
advisory boards help set product direction, importance and
discuss industry trends with our Product management and
development teams.
“I think this was one of the best meetings,” says Melissa Speer,
West Clinic, Memphis, Tennessee. “It was extremely interesting
for me to hear how other Impac Software users are utilizing MOSAIQ and
changing their workflow.”
