Sunnyvale, California, May 6,

Impac Software, part of the Elekta Group, and VisionRT have
identified product collaboration projects which will enable
integration of MOSAIQ® oncology management systems with the
AlignRT System, a revolutionary 3D imaging solution for patient
setup and real time surveillance, providing speed and accuracy.
This non-invasive system does not require the use of any markers
and adds no further irradiation. This development will allow for
MOSAIQ users to review patient positioning, bill for 3D IGRT and
perform image reviews within the MOSAIQ system and then send
shift information to the delivery system. This collaboration has
been driven by the Particle Therapy market and once developed
will be compatible with conventional radiotherapy systems.
“VisionRT plans to work with Impac Software to provide our
customers with innovative approaches to real-time patient
positioning from patient setup through treatment,” says Dr.
Norman Smith, CEO of Vision RT. “We anticipate workflow gains
that will further solidify our platform as ideal and unique, as
well as, continuous and real-time target localization solution.”
"Impac Software is looking forward to working closely with
VisionRT to optimize our customers clinical workflow in managing
the challenges associated with patient motion,” says Jay Hoey,
Executive Vice President Product Creation at Elekta and CEO of
Impac Software. “The real-time motion data generated by the
AlignRT System introduces new and exciting options which will
advance IGRT approaches, as well as provide data management
solutions for our mutual customers.”
