Mountain View, CA, March 19, 2002
IMPAC Medical Systems,
Inc., today announced positive ROI results from a study recently
completed by medical oncology centers using IMPAC’s Multi-ACCESS™
management system. The study confirmed that IMPAC’s integrated
practice management and electronic medical record solution enables
cancer centers to realize a positive return on investment due to
increased efficiency in work processes, increased revenue,
increased productivity, and cost containment.
IMPAC’s ROI study revealed that one oncology business experienced
a 15% increase in revenue by using IMPAC to minimize or eliminate
lost revenue due to previously lost charges; at another center,
billable charges were increased by 22%. “IMPAC is committed to
providing administrators with the tools they need to increase
productivity and realize positive financial gains,” stated Barbara
Robbins, RN, MBA, medical oncology product manager for IMPAC.
“Only an integrated system can track all patient treatments and
capture all associated charges resulting in more accurate charge
capture, higher reimbursements, and increased revenue.”
In addition to an increase in revenue, one oncology center found
an increase of 12% in physicians’ patient time and an increase of
9% in nurses’ patient time. At another center, the clinical staff
overtime hours decreased by 27%. “IMPAC strives to help providers
save time and money with an integrated administrative and clinical
solution that improves overall communication, and process
efficiency,” stated Joseph Jachinowski, president and CEO of
IMPAC. “We thoroughly believe that by empowering healthcare
providers with complete patient information, IMPAC’s Multi-ACCESS
system assists medical oncology professionals in making accurate
and timely decisions that increase the quality of care they
provide.”
