Mountain View, CA, July 15, 2004
IMPAC Medical Systems, Inc. has achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification for its quality management system by BSI Management Systems.

“ISO 9001:2000 certification reflects our commitment to truly achieve and surpass our quality objectives,” said Thomas H. Faris, IMPAC’s Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance. “We consider this to be a significant indication of the dedication of the entire organization to meeting the tenets of our Quality Policy: absolute customer satisfaction, inspiration and advancement of our employees, and the continuous pursuit of more effective and efficient operations."

IMPAC was previously certified to the ISO 9001:1994 standard, which was required by many countries for the international distribution of IMPAC’s medical device products. In a highly regulated industry, IMPAC has stepped even further beyond the minimal requirements to implement and become certified to ISO 9001:2000, which is now completely voluntary for medical device manufacturers and provides extrinsic evidence of the organization’s emphasis on customer satisfaction and continual improvement.

The IMPAC Quality System is an internal operational management system that provides mandatory process controls for the consistent and effective design, development, testing, installation, and service of all IMPAC products. The intended result comprises more efficient and effective operations, a better understanding of the needs and wants of the customers, and improved product and service quality. The requirement to seek and implement improvements that increase the value and quality of products and services is integral
to the IMPAC Quality System.

“We will continue to reap the benefits of our investment in the IMPAC Quality System. We have already seen improved consistency and organizational communications across the board as a result of the establishment of the IMPAC Quality System,” reflected Joseph K. Jachinowski, IMPAC's President and CEO. "It is only through a continual and total commitment to quality that we can hope to perpetuate our hard-earned reputation for quality and customer satisfaction."
