Multi-ACCESS
6.1 Upgrade Information
IMPAC products have always provided reasonable privacy and
security protection for confidential patient information. Many
customers will find that currently distributed versions of
Multi-ACCESS fully satisfy their need for “adequate security” and
other requirements under the Privacy rule, which must be fully
implemented by April 14, 2003.
Multi-ACCESS Version 6.1X is available to those customers
interested in the ability to automate some of their operational or
paper-driven solutions to HIPAA Privacy requirements (such as
alternate address requests, acknowledgement of Notice of Privacy
Practice receipt, disclosure tracking, etc.) or those who want to
fully implement the requirements of the final Security rule at
this time (Security rule requirements must be implemented by April
21, 2005). Healthcare facility privacy and security management
must determine which means and mechanisms, including which version
of Multi-ACCESS software, must be implemented by each regulatory
timeline to satisfy HIPAA.
The Multi-ACCESS Version 6.1X upgrade will be provided at no
charge to customers currently under Maintenance and Support
contract. IMPAC’s Client Services department has established an
upgrade schedule. In order to be placed on the schedule, customers
must review and complete the required pre-upgrade documentation to
confirm that all system requirements are met and that staff
members are adequately prepared for the upgrade. Upon receipt of
the completed documentation, IMPAC Client Services will schedule
the upgrade. To ensure an upgrade date that meets your
requirements, be certain to submit your completed documentation as
quickly as possible.
